Gelish and Morgan Taylor Matadora Collection Swatches and Review Part 1

I have a different sort of review for you today - a combined review and comparison of the Gelish and Morgan Taylor Matadora Collections. The two brands will release collections in companion gel polish and regular nail polish shades. This provides options for whichever formula and wear the customer prefers but it is worth noting that the effects can be somewhat different depending on which product you chose. I used the Gelish colors with a peel-off base coat and Gelish Top It Off Top Coat and the Morgan Taylor colors with Morgan Taylor Stick with It Base Coat and Need for Speed Top Coat (both fantastic!) Let's have a look!

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Emergency Services Collection, part 1

Hello everyone, I have a new brand to show you today, Turtle Tootsie Polishes. Check out the adorable mascot on the logo - I love it as I used to have pet turtles as a child! The debut collection is a tribute to emergency services workers, as Chrissy, the maker, has worked as a dispatcher. The Emergency Services Collection features ten polishes and I have the first half right here after the break...

Marbles For Polish Legend Of Zelda Collection

Marbles For Polish is coming out with a quartet of new colors on November 14 and this time they are dedicated to the Legend Of Zelda. Sadly I never played the game as a kid (if it didn't come free on our family Macintosh, I was out of luck), but was certainly aware of it from my game-playing friends. Here Shannon has gotten her inspiration from the Triforce for the names and colors of the polishes. They are her signature, glowing but delicate linear holos. Nothing in-your-face, here. The holo seems to light up the base color and amplify it rather than graying it out. Lovely!  I bought these a while back when Shannon first put them into testing so I'm excited to finally be able to share! Check them out after the break...

Carpe Noctem Cosmetics swatches

Carpe Noctem Cosmetics is a brand I have been collecting from the very beginning, so I have a lot of Emily's polishes, both active and discontinued. I was going back through older pics and wanted to share these, even though a few have already sold out from the store. The good news is that one is a core, a couple more are still on clearance, and best of all, Emily does fantastic customs. If you see something here you like, she may still be able to make it or produce something similar, just for you! Check them out after the break.

Glitzkrieg War Paint Holo-Back Girl swatches

Glitzkrieg War Paint is a new indie with a dazzling array of holos in her Holo-Back Girl Intense Holographic Nail Polish. Many of the polishes are jelly finish, meaning they are sheer and translucent. They are meant to be layered to opacity and have a wonderful glow as the light bounces all the way through the polish and the color reflects back from the holo. Other in the line are holo shimmers and are more opaque. Overall, the formula is easy to control but quite thick. Here I have three of each for you. All of them retail for $7 each, so they are quite the deal! Check them out after the break...

Marbles For Polish Seven Deadly Sins Collection

Ah, the Seven Deadly Sins Collection by Marbles For Polish is one close to my heart... Not that I make it a point of over-indulging in sins, but I am a huge fan of Dante's Inferno, which is where I learned of the various punishments in store for medieval sinners. And in my dorm freshman year, we did Deadly Sin-O-Meters, which were pie-charts graphing the proportion of sinfulness in each of us. Mine was easy, just divided down the middle into Wrath and Sloth. LMAO. I've calmed down a bit since then, but yeah, Sloth... And yes I was in the intellectual nerd dorm, natch! In general, the formulas on these dried quickly and were easy to work with. Check out the details after the break...

Pretty Bitch Polish swatches

Pretty Bitch Polish launched last year and I was on board for the very first pre-order. Jac, the maker, is a model and professional writer. She even poses herself for some of the brand's collection campaigns! Pretty Bitch's base is custom-blended to Jac's specifications and reminds me of old school nail polish in terms of the scent and application, but is completely five-free. Many of the polish names are NSFW, and are a totally tongue-in-cheek poke at naughty language. Let's just say they can inspire some pretty humorous conversations. Let's have a look after the jump...

Bear Pawlish swatches

Bear Pawlish is one of the most amazing brands I have tried - Tennessee, the maker, keeps coming up with such amazing ideas, and I am way behind on photographing them, but I'll share the six that I have done so far! More pictures after the jump...
