Hi everyone! I've been on the longest break of my time posting nail swatches - basically half a year. Previously I never missed more than a couple weeks for 12 years posting nail pics online. I don't know that I will be back as frequently as I was due to work and my health, but I will try to stop by as much as I can. I am back with a polish that is really important for a long-time member of the nail polish hobby. Nadia, the blogger and vlogger behind Mama Hearts Polish and maker behind Moonflower Polish, a stamping polish brand, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She is the mom of two kids and is such a kind and generous person. She just had surgery recently, which was successful, but has a long recovery ahead of her. Her day job was as a dog groomer, but she is having to take time off because the recovery from mastectomy and reconstruction makes her physically demanding job impossible for awhile. Taylor of Wildflower Lacquer was so nice to add a polish to benefit Nadia in her May release. $8 of the $13.50 price will go directly to Nadia to help replace the income she has lost while recovering and to help with medical bills. Wildflower Lacquer 2021 Alzheimer's Awareness Polish Swatches and Review

On September 9 Wildflower Lacquer is releasing the Happy Little Polishes Collection and the 2021 Alzheimer's Awareness Polish. This charity polish directs $5 of every sale to Pearl's Memory Babies.  This is the fifth annual release of this series, which pays tribute to the maker's grandmother, who had Alzheimer's Disease. The Charity Box Magic & Sorcery November 2020 Swatches and Review

The Charity Box November 2020 is open for pre-order through the end of today and I have two shades to share with you! Alter Ego has a coral-red shimmer and Rogue Lacquer has a dusty blue holo with red flakes. The Charity Box is a pop-up shop that supports a different charity each month. The theme this month is Magic & Sorcery and $1 from each bottle purchase goes to the Pink Daisy Project, to help women dealing with breast cancer treatment.

The Charity Box Fall Festival September 2020 Swatches and Review

The maker of Turtle Tootsie Polishes, Chrissy, is a breast cancer survivor who created an amazing fundraiser for breast cancer research involving her friends and colleagues in the indie community. Great Lakes Lacquer Indies to the Rescue 2.0 Charity Auction for Moni's Mani

Recently the indie nail polish community lost a beloved member, the blogger Moni of Moni's Mani, after a sudden and catastrophic illness that required a long, expensive hospitalization. Moni had been a wonderful supporter of indie polish brands and her fellow bloggers and leaves behind a young son and grieving husband. The Facebook group, Indies to the Rescue has jumped back into life and numerous indie polish makers have donated polishes to support Moni's family. Great Lakes Lacquer has donated multiple bottles of three small batches that she had sold recently at Polish Pickup White Plains 2018. A friend of mine had picked them up for me (thanks, Kate!) and Mariah asked me to photograph them so you can see swatches and hopefully bid to support Moni's family! Bidding will open in the Facebook group Indies to the Rescue tonight at 8PM EDT and will end Sunday, August 5 at 8PM EDT.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month - Wave of Polish Auctions Press Release

October is International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Sadly, still today one in four pregnancies end in loss, leaving behind devastated families. According to the Stillbirth Foundation Australia there are six stillborn babies born every day in Australia, a statistic that has not changed  in decades. 

Throughout the month of October, the Wave of Polish campaign runs two main events to promote awareness and support for pregnancy and infant loss, as well as to raise funds to support the charities supporting bereaved parents.

In the first event you are encouraged to paint your nails pink and blue to show your support.  You will also help raise awareness of pregnancy and Infant loss. We are in our 4^th year and have found many people encouraged to share their story, some for the first time, just through the simple act of sharing our nails  Please don't forget to Post your manis on social media using the hashtag #waveofpolish and follow the IG @waveofpolish. October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss awareness day, this is the best day to show your support. If there is only one day you can paint your nails this month, please chose this date. To honour the little ones taken too young on the 15th of October at 7pm wherever you live please join in and stop a moment with us and light a candle. As the clock, strikes seven in different parts of the world a wave of light will wash over the world for those precious angels who we no longer share this earth with. We also want this to be a day across the nail community that shows parents we care, we remember, we are here to support you by sharing your nails.

The second event is a large auction of one of a kind polishes made especially for Pregnancy and Infant Loss awareness and not commercially available. We have many extremely talented makers from around the world that have created this polishes. The Wave of Polish auctions start on the 8th of October and finishes on the awareness day 15th the same time you light your candle, 7pm. Gorgeous hand blended nail polish me  are on offer as the auction ships internationally to anyone in the world who registers. All the proceeds go to help the parents and families grieving the loss of their child by going to SANDS Australia and MISS foundation in United States. I'm excited to share the newest polishes created for Crystal's Charity Lacquers. This is a Facebook group that pairs different indie brands and charities every month to let us purchase beautiful polishes for a cause. This month, Turtle Tootsie Polishes created the Michael J. Fox Collection to help out the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. This is a cause close to my own heart as my grandmother died from Parkinson's 14 years ago.
