Colores de Carol Splashy Town Collection Swatches and Review

Colores de Carol has just released the Splashy Town Collection! This quad is comprised of four classic glitters in white creme-jelly bases. Crelly polishes have made a big comeback this year, returning to the roots of when indies differentiated themselves from mainstream polishes in 2011-2012 by having novel combinations and finishes you just couldn't find on the mass market. While we largely can't enjoy our water parks this summer due to the pandemic, this polish collection brings back memories of neon-hued floating fun with water park names! The polishes are priced at $11.50 each or you can get all four for $42. You can save 10%  with code HIPPY. This is not an affiliate, code, just a discount for you.  Let's have a closer look...

Colores de Carol This Is the 80s Collection Part 2 Swatches and Review

Colores de Carol has a Part 2 of her This Is the 80s Collection that involves matte microglitters in a clear base. Part 1 had similar glitters in white and other pastel creme-jelly bases, and you can see them on my blog here. I am wild for these kind of polishes because they remind me of when I first discovered indies in 2011-2012 and matte microglitters were all the rage! I would collect any polish I could find with these sorts of glitters. Probably the most famous one of this type was Nail-Venturous Floam, which is long gone. This Is the 80s Part 2 is intended to be a topper and is slightly less dense than some polishes of this type, but since there were already plenty of other pics showing them layered over base colors in one or two coats, in the spirit of going retro I wanted to layer them to opacity. They did quite nicely at that in three or four coats! While you can see a tiny bit of my nail underneath in my close-up images, in real life they look pretty opaque. You can grab these for $11 each or $60 for all six. You can also get 10% off with code HIPPY. This is not an affiliate, code, just a discount for you.  Let's have a closer look...

Glitzkrieg War Paint Trick Or Treat Collection

Emily from Glitzkrieg War Paint has just released her fall lines and I've got four of them here today from the Trick Or Treat Collection. This is a quartet of polishes with the same glitter mix and different shades of sheer jelly base. This is a neat idea, as it lets you pick and chose the combo you like best, or all of them. I can tell you I would have gone nuts for this collection as a kid. Too bad we didn't have these kinds of polishes then! Check out more after the break...

Ooh La Lacquer swatches

Ooh La Lacquer is a brand I have been collecting since 2012.  Some of the swatches here are of oldies but most are still available. Can't say enough good things about the formula or finish of this line. Also, the fact that she does the matte microglitters and holos that I love ensure that I will keep coming back for more. More pictures after the jump...
