Gelish and Morgan Taylor Matadora Collection Swatches and Review Part 1

I have a different sort of review for you today - a combined review and comparison of the Gelish and Morgan Taylor Matadora Collections. The two brands will release collections in companion gel polish and regular nail polish shades. This provides options for whichever formula and wear the customer prefers but it is worth noting that the effects can be somewhat different depending on which product you chose. I used the Gelish colors with a peel-off base coat and Gelish Top It Off Top Coat and the Morgan Taylor colors with Morgan Taylor Stick with It Base Coat and Need for Speed Top Coat (both fantastic!) Let's have a look!

Gelish and Morgan Taylor Matadora Collection

Gelish 1110267 I'm Drawing a Blanco is a sheer white frost gel polish with green-to-blue duochrome microflakes. I wore it in three coats, which is my maximum for gel polish, as it will get quite thick otherwise. There was a bit of nail line visible.

Morgan Taylor 3110267 I'm Drawing a Blanco is the regular nail polish version. It is a stronger frost-finish polish with a bit more opacity. Still, I used four thin coats and had to be careful to avoid bubbling.

Gelish 1110268 Mauve Your Feet is a pink beige creme gel polish. I wore it in two thin coats. It appears lighter and cooler than the printed swatch on the bottle.

Morgan Taylor 3110268 Mauve Your Feet, the regular polish version, is slightly lighter and cooler. It covers in two or three thin coats and has a medium dry time.

Gelish 1110269 Don't Break My Corazon is a light crimson red jelly gel polish. I wore it in two thin coats and it had a bit of squishy translucency.

Morgan Taylor 3110269 Don't Break My Corazon is the regular polish version. It is very slightly cooler and is a straight creme, not a jelly. It will cover in one or two thin coats. Quick dry time.

It is fun to be able to try a collection in two formulas! There are definite differences, some slight and some more noticeable. I will be back tomorrow with the second half of both collections. Have you ever bought a gel and regular polish in a single shade before?
