Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer It Got Away From Me, Yeah... Collection, Part 1

Today I have three of the six polishes from the first part of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's It Got Away From Me, Yeah... Collection. These are releasing on Sunday, September 21, at 3:30 PM EDT and are dedicated to the Women Of Dr. Who. Check them out after the break!

Is That A Technical Term, Jiggery Pokery? pays tribute to Rose Tyler. This polish originally released in October 2013 but is making a comeback this year. It is a complex glitter with numerous shapes, sizes, and colors of sparkle. It works equally well as a glitter topper or on its own in two to three coats. The base is pink-tinted with pink shimmer flecks, and the glitters include silver holographic squares and hexes, silver hexes, peach butterflies, peach holographic hexes, magenta circles, and pink holographic stars. I'm showing it with three coats on its own and as one coat over You Just Want To Mate?!

Just Admiring Your Skills, Sweetie is for River Song. Julie, the maker, told us that these were on the thick side in order to make them opaque in one to two coats, and I would agree with that. I found two thin coats preferable in order to make sure I got a smooth, even surface. Thinner could be added if desired. Due to the opacity of the base, the shimmer is not as apparent on the nail as in the bottle, but it is still plenty visible. It dries to a satin finish, but I am wearing it with topcoat. Color-shifting pink-to-gold and violet-to-gold duochrome fleck shimmer in a lavender purple base. Two coats.

You Just Want To Mate?! is dedicated to Donna Noble and is my favorite of the bunch. The formula is similar to Just Admiring Your Skills, Sweetie but the base is a bit more jelly-like and translucent. With one to two coats, it tends to take on a pinkish tinge, but is redder in three very thin coats, as I am showing it here. This one also dries to a satin finish and I wore it with top coat. Gold, orange, and red shimmer flecks in a firebrick red jelly base. Three coats.

The collection can be purchased starting Sunday, September 21, at 3:30 PM EDT. Glitters and shimmers will be priced at $8.50. Look for hashtags #begl and #begldrwho on social media for more polishes from this collection!
