I have several Born Pretty Store products to share with you today, mainly that I used to test their No Wipe Gel Top Coat. Since this product is frequently used in conjunction with powders, I used a Born Pretty Store Gel Polish #79 and Chameleon Holo Flake Powder #1. Let's have a closer look!

Born Pretty Store No Wipe Gel Top Coat comes in a 10ml glass bottle. This product is required to get the chrome effect from powders - you apply a layer of top coat, cure, rub in the powder, then finish with a second layer of the top coat. No wipe top coats tend to be on the thick side and I was really happy to find that the Born Pretty Store one was thinner than others I had tried. This really helps when you factor in all the layers needed for a full gel mani - base coat, two layers of color, two layers of top coat. It settled only minimally and cured to a nice, hard, shiny finish in one minute in my LED light. It also did not dimple over regular three-step gel polish even though I didn't wipe the gel polish first. For $3.99 on sale, I would say this is s steal and I highly recommend it.
I used Born Pretty Store Gel Polish #79 as my base shade to test the top coat. I was a bit disappointed in this one, as it is pretty sheer and a bit streaky. I had very noticeable balding at the tips, even with three coats and wrapping my tips. Luckily otherwise the formula was good and it was not prone to dimpling or pooling. I was even able to apply the No Wipe Top Coat without wiping first, which usually causes dimpling for me. It doesn't break the bank at $3.29 on sale for 10ml.
In order to try out the No Wipe Gel Top Coat with a powder, I tried the Born Pretty Store Chameleon Holo Flake Powder #1. This combines linear holographic shimmer with multichrome magenta-to-gold flakes and shimmer. It worked beautifully over the No Wipe Top Coat and yielded a gorgeous finished effect. This powder sells for $2.99 for .2 grams on sale, but a little goes a long way and you should be able to get quite a few manis out of a jar. I applied it with a sponge eyeshadow applicator. I would say the flakes tend to break apart and turn to shimmer, so it is best to dab first, then burnish to a chrome effect.
I have already bought a second bottle of the Born Pretty Store No Wipe Gel Top Coat since I liked it so much and can highly recommend it since it is affordable and not too thick. It is important to be able to apply gels thinly to avoid painful heat spikes as you cure or oddly shaped nails if there is too much coating on the nails. The Born Pretty Store Chameleon Holo Flake Powder #1 was also a hit with me and I love that they come in smaller quantities for affordability and convenience. The Born Pretty Store Gel Polish #79 was a bit of a disappointment for a gel that was not marketed as sheer, especially since the pigment was a bit streaky. But it worked fine as a base for powders and did peek through a bit. I did this mani over a peel-off base coat and was able to remove it the next day with no solvent, which is a great option for those who want to try this look without the commitment.
