Essie Enchanted Gel Couture Collection Swatches and Review Part 1

Ready for more soft, spring shades? Essie has released the Enchanted Gel Couture Collection, with six shades inspired by fairy tales. I have the first three, a trio of cremes, to share with you now!

Essie 139 Matter of Fiction is a pale, cool blush creme. I will admit this wasn't my favorite from the collection, as it was a bit streaky on the first couple coats, but evened out in three-to-four thin coats. Thin coats are recommended as this has a slower dry time. The Gel Couture Top Coat definitely helped dry and smooth this one.

Essie 64 Princess Charming is a rose mauve creme. I wore it in two thin coats and was pleased with the opacity and smoothness. It had a slow-to-medium dry time, so I recommend thin coats. It is also worn here with the Gel Couture Top Coat.

Essie 163 Once Upon a Time is a lavender-tinged slate blue creme. I wore it here in three thin coats, but two will do. This has a medium dry time and smooth formula. Again, I recommend thin coats and also wore this with the Gel Couture Top Coat.

While I would have preferred a faster dry time, I have often noticed that pastel cremes take longer to dry than other shades and was not surprised. The wear time with the Gel Couture system, however was great and the Gel Couture Top Coat really helped speed up drying and seemed to make the coatings bond and harden well. Overall, I think I like this line better than most other gel-like polish systems I have tried.
