Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Le Bon Ton Collection Swatches and Review

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Le Bon Ton Collection just released and you can pick these polishes up in the Facebook group The Octosquad. The quad is inspired by 19th century fashion plates - I helped Dave out with the name, which was a term used in the 19th century to describe fashionable society - it meant good form. I feel like Roaring 20s themes are popular right now, but this is the equivalent from a 75 years before, and had similar darker undertones, including rigid class hierarchies and exclusivity, along with the lighter aspects of fashion and ornamentation. There are probably reasons these themes are coming back in the year 2021! Let's check them out...

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Le Bon Ton Collection

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Embroidered Chemisette is a gold holo microglitter with purple/magenta multichrome flakes. I wore it in four thin coats, but two or three will cover. It can also be a topper in one coat. It dries quickly and there is plenty of glitter in it. It will need a couple layers of top coat to be completely smooth. I wore it with peel off base coat for easy removal.

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Polonaise of Dusk is a burgundy jelly with blue/red and red/gold multichrome microglitters. I wore it in four thin coats but three coats will cover. It had a medium dry time and need top coat for smoothness and shine. I wore it with peel off base coat, but it is not super glitter packed and you may not need it.

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Reigning Engageants is a mardi gras purple with magenta/gold duochrome microflakes. It dries much darker and more purple on the nail than it looks in the bottle. I wore it in three thin coats, but two will cover. It had a nice, fast-drying formula.

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer The Bronze Crinoline is a mimi pink jelly with pink/gold duochrome shimmer. I wore it in four thin coats and it retained some translucency. It could be used as a sheer wash in one or two coats and is not streaky. It has a nice, fast dry time and plush finish.

Now for live swatches!

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Le Bon Ton Collection just released and you can pick these polishes up in the Facebook group The Octosquad. I love that this is inspired by something historical and highly visual. As someone who does not watch TV shows or movies, I have to admit I don't feel inspired by names that derive from contemporary pop fictional entertainment culture. But things that are more general, like nature, animals, time periods, fashion, and word play. So this is right up my alley! Do you have a theme that you particularly like or don't like?
