It is almost Polish Pickup time! This month the theme is Red Carpet and the preorder opens on Friday, November 6 at 11AM EST and runs through Monday, November 9 at 11PM EST. Alter Ego Pewter Perfect is a pewter metallic shimmer with pewter microflakes. I wore it in three thin coats and it had a good formula and medium-fast dry time.

Anchor & Heart Lacquer Ferry Fast 5-Free Top Coat in Here Goes Muffin scent. This is a fast-drying top coat with a scent containing cranberry, citrus, coconut milk, butter, and vanilla notes. It is a softer-textured top coat.
Inspiration: Enjoying a fresh, decadent cranberry-orange muffin whilst recovering from a champagne hangover the morning after the Awards!

Anchor & Heart Lacquer So Much Sexy Face is a deep blue jelly with magenta-copper-gold multichrome shimmer and blue holo microglitters. I wore it in three thin coats, but two coats may cover, and it had a nice, quick-drying formula. The microglitters aren't really textured.
Inspiration:Has there ever been a more fabulous, hilarious, talented group of individuals on the red carpet than the Fab Five from Netflix’s Queer Eye?! Each unique yet together they make the perfect team!

Colores de Carol Pop the Rosé is a rose foil with holo microflakes and multichrome iridescent flakes and aurora shimmer. I wore it in two thin coats and it had a good, slightly thicker formula. Quick dry time.

Great Lakes Lacquer Bey'ond is a sheer polish with holo shimmer and microflakes, pink/lavender/gold/green iridescent multichrome flake and bronze microflakes. I wore it in four thin coats and it had a nice formula that needs top coat to smooth. This will also work as a topper.
Inspiration: Beyonce's Met Gala 2015 dress.

KBShimmer In the Mood is a lilac (warm) to blackened purple (cool) jelly thermal with multichrome iridescent flakes and duochrome purple/pink shimmer. I wore it in four thin coats, but two or three will cover. Good quick dry time. It needs top coat for smoothness and shine.
Inspiration: Project Runway Designer's Dress
While not all reality TV is my cup of tea, Project Runway is one exception. As someone who can't sew, I love watching the designers get inspired, turn seemingly random sketches into designs, and travel to Mood to select luxurious fabrics. Seeing the shop dog, Swatch, chilling on the floor while designers frantically run around is also entertaining. I knew I wanted to do something inspired by the show, so I set to seeking out the perfect dress. My inspiration dress was designed by a judge from a foreign Project Runway, but with its dramatic black bodice fading into hues of lavender, coral, deep purples, and pinks, I knew this was the one!

KBShimmer Sparkling Champagne Sugar Scrub is a highly moisturizing sugar scrub with apricot, brandy, berry, and floral notes.
Inspiration: Sometimes the most entertaining parts of award shows are the antics we hear about via social media. One memorable occasion involved celebrities running out of the water at their table. The two thirsty stars did only what was logical: they asked even bigger stars to share the champagne they brought to the show! That led to gifts of champagne being sent and days of social media posts to enjoy.

Nail Hoot Indie Lacquers Best Nails is a bronze shimmer linear holo with gold-to-green duochrome microflakes and red-to-gold duochrome shimmer. I wore it in three thin coats, but two will cover. It has a quick dry time and needs top coat for shine.

Pretty Beautiful Unlimited Fiber Optic Stunner is a deep ultramarine jelly with holo shimmer, green/teal/blue/purple multichrome shimmer and four kinds of multichrome iridescent crystal flakes. I wore it in four thin coats but two or three will cover. Nice, fast-drying polish that needs top coat to smooth. This has a little bit of the sulphur "blue polish smell."

Seventy-Seven Nail Lacquer Dakota is a cornflower blue jelly with blue/purple/red multichrome iridescent shimmer and iridescent bar glitters. I wore it in four thin coats and it had a quick dry time. The texture is minimal and it removes easily.
Inspiration: a "holo-descent" dress worn by Dakota Fanning on the red carpet

Starlight and Sparkles Red Carpet Ready Charm and Page Marker Set is comprised of six paperclip page markers and one clip charm with silver metal mounts and iridescent glass jewels. The hardware is robust and good quality.
Info from the vendor: This set contains six paperclip page markers and one clippable charm. The charm is a crystal pendant in a twisted drop shape, almost 7/8” long (just the crystal, not the whole charm!). The page markers have six different colors of glass rivolis, each with an iridescent coating. Going from left to right, and then down each row, the base colors are: lavender, peach, celadon green, teal, topaz, and pinkish crimson.
These use rectangular paperclips, and due to the shape of the paperclip, the charms can’t freely slide all around the paperclip, and I find these type of paperclips to be quite secure, able to reliably hold quite a few sheets, and I usually find they’re less likely to leave paperclip imprints in the page they’re attached to.

Starlight Polish Silver As the Moon, Shining As the Stars is a medium gray jelly with silver holo microglitters and shimmer. It has a great formula and dry time and I wore it in four thin coats, but two or three will cover. It needs top coat for smoothness and shine. The glitters have minimal texture. There are some tiny black specks in the polish but they aren't visible except in macro photos.
Inspiration: This polish is inspired by Janelle Monae’s incredible look at the Oscars this year! I loved her dress, and her jewelry and makeup were fantastic (her performance was amazing, too!). The dress (by Ralph Lauren) is a silvery grey and covered in crystals. The long sleeves, hood, and open back combine to create a unique, elegant design, even before the choice of fabric and embellishment.
Her dress and her overall look immediately made me think of fairy tales. There’s an element that shows up in several fairy tales, where the girl in the tale comes to have or wear three dresses – one as golden as the sun, one as silver as the moon, and one as shining as the stars. I thought this dress could easily work for both the moon and the stars (and it’s so pretty, who wouldn’t want to wear it twice!).
A grey crelly with silver holographic pigment and silver holographic glitter. In this grey crelly base, the holo is a bit more subtle than it would be in a jelly base – holo elements catch the light as you it moves over the surface of the polish, and a significant portion will look silver at any given time. I think represents nicely how the dress looked on camera, where you saw mostly reflective clear/silvery crystal, and bits of rainbow color scattered throughout, not the more intensely holographic look you’d get from a sequin dress.
