The Polished Hippy's 2019 Favorites Part 1

I'm tardy to the party this year, but it is never too late to get excited about the good things in life, right? So here's to The Polished Hippy's 2019 Favorites Part 1. This post covers 30 of my favorite products I have reviewed on the blog in the last year. The bolded name of each product links back to the original review if you want more information. As usual, this post doesn't contain all the products I loved in the last year, just the ones that showed up on the blog. I will be back soon with the second half of the favorites!

In spite of my magpie tendencies, I will always love a classic creme polish. 6 Harts There Will Be Time was from the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Box 2019 and hit the spot with a soothing, rich, classic berry color. 

Anchor & Heart Lacquer 5 Second Rule from Polish Pickup Urban Legends October 2019 is everything I love in a magnetic polish - a fun, pastel shift and lots of complexity.

Bee's Knees Lacquer The Donkey Girl from the brand's The Indie Shop San Antonio Limited Editions was a standout even among the brand's fantastic releases in 2019. The magnetic pull was really strong - no challenge to pull out - and the shift was gorgeous. The red flakes added even more fire.

Bluebird Lacquer I'm Not Having Any Funhouse from Polish Pickup At the Carnival August 2019 has that luscious blue-purple jelly finish I love plus some shifty elements for extra interest.

Blush Lacquers knows how to do a mean holo flake polish, and Starry Night from the After Hours Shimmers Collection was one of the richest ones of the year. There is plenty of shift and vamp and I love how the brand does whole collections based off certain color families.

Chirality Nail Polish Narcissus Immortal from Polish Pickup Great Works of Art April 2019 was one of the most interesting polishes I featured on the blog in the last year. The green flash of the shimmer against the orange jelly base was interesting, and echoed in the green glow-in-the-dark pigment.

Colores de Carol Valiente shows how amazing the brand's holos can be. It is soft and shifty, but still brilliant. This appeared in the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Box 2019.

Colors by Llarowe In Your Eyes January 2019 Polish of the Month shows how gorgeous the brand's holos can be. Ultra-flashy but also super opaque, it has a marvelous formula, to boot!

Copacetic Cosmetics Dark Kiss Liquid Lipstick was from the Creature of the Night Collab with Zombie Claw Polish. I loved the vampy yet wearable color and the fact it looked different on every skin tone due to the shimmer. I was more gray on me, but the purple showed more on deeper skin tones.

Cupcake Polish Pursue Your Talent from the Bob Ross Collection was one of the brand's classic galaxy holo glitters in a jelly base. I found this shade really unique and the base color really brought out the holo sparkle.

Cuticula Guavaberry is a clear with tiny pink metallic flakes. It also has a delightful scent and is a great way to jazz up a mani. This was from the the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Box 2019.

Different Dimension Alien from the Alien Collection hit a lot of favorites for me - murky green, multichrome flake, jelly, and holo flake! Yes to all, thanks! I like how the red flakes pop out like fire from the base.

Don Deeva Lady of the Dead from the Road to Polish Con Spring 2019 series combined a thermal effect with tons of fire via the shifting flakes and shimmer. I never tire of polishes like this!

Emily de Molly Extravaganza from the Indie Spectrum Box April 2019 exhibits the brand's masterful formula in a red jelly finish, one of my perennial favorites! I just have a thing for the brand's jelly polishes.

Essie 1548 Tiers of Joy from the Spring 2019 Collection was one of the brand's top hits online, and a personal favorite of mine. The contrast shimmer absolutely glowed against the pale purple base and it even had a little bit of duochrome shift. Gorgeous!

Ethereal Lacquer has been on fire with glowing flake polishes in jelly bases. Hope from the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Box 2019 is a wonderful example. The depth on it is gorgeous.

Grace-full Nail Polish Tru Love was the brand's Valentine's Day release and the vampy, majestic holo really got me. Holo, reddish, and deep - my true loves!

Great Lakes Lacquer Ready for Fall was part of the Fall 2019 Duo. I was really tempted to pick its companion, Like This Red, because red, shifty holos are always right by me, but I had to go for this large-flake multichrome jelly instead for its interesting texture and bluish flash.

Heather's Hues always masters the glow-from-within shimmer. Think Pink is a cool-toned version that appeared in the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Box 2019.

Indie Lacquer Elephant Ears Are Life from Polish Pickup At the Carnival August 2019 got me for its blue-purple base (always a favorite with me) and strongly contrasting red glitters. This is a complex and fun polish!

Kathleen & Co. Tiger Beetle for Hella Handmade Creations August 2019 has an awesome duochrome foil finish with a dash of holo. The brand doesn't get enough attention for its fantastic specialty finishes, in my opinion, and I hope that changes in 2020!

Leesha's Lacquer La Resistencia is a fun solar polish that appeared in the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Box 2019. It shows up gray indoors and picks up a blush in the sun.

Lilypad Lacquer Keep Your Wig On was from the Indie Spectrum Box April 2019. This polish has a creamy, perfect formula that is typical of the brand, in a happy bright blue with contrast shimmer. Love!

Literary Lacquers This Dish Is Cheap Yet Tasty from Polish Pickup Urban Legends October 2019 is the ultimate ultra-holo! Super linear shimmer, a silky formula, and opaque enough to stamp!

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Wonder for Reason from Polish Pickup At the Carnival 2019 had some pretty stiff competition among the brand's spectacular 2019 offerings, but the mind-blowing pastel shift in a neutral base kept grabbing my brain and it had to win!

Lakur Enhanced Colour by Londontown Starstruck was the lone glitter from the Modern Opulence Collection. I loved the variety of monochrome glitters in it and the fact it was pretty smooth in spite of all the sparkle.

Louise Lacquer Let it Go didn't let me go, because its periwinkle color and shifting foil finish was waaaay too enticing! This was even more foily in real life.

MckFresh Nail Attire The Nancy Drew of Drag from the Indie Spectrum Box April 2019 has all kinds of interesting elements going on, from thermal color change effects to an explosion of glitter.

Moonflower Polish Zafiro (Sapphire) from the Gemstones Collection Part 2 exemplifies the brand's excellent holo stamping polish. They are perfect as regular polishes and stamp like a dream! It is shown here stamped over its runner up for favorite, Rubí (Ruby). 

Music City Beauty Every Rose Has Its Thorn from the 80s Ballads Collection has such a beautiful teal jelly base that is only made more spectacular by the duochrome contrast shimmer.
