Polish Pickup is back with a spooky-month appropriate theme for October! Urban Legends plays on our delicious love of myth and conspiracy theory with polishes and yummy-scented skin care and home fragrance. The Polish Pickup is a Facebook group and pop-up shop that offers monthly pre-orders of indie polish and crafts made to themes voted on by members of the group. The pre-order runs from Friday, October 4 at 11AM EDT to Monday, October 7 at 11:59. I've got seventeen of the products to share this month so let's get started!

Anchor & Heart Lacquer 5 Second Rule is a denim blue jelly with aqua/purple and lime/copper/blue iridescent duochrome/multichrome flakes and red/orange/gold multichrome flakes, along with pink/gold/green multichrome magnetic shimmer. I wore it in four thin coats, but two or three will cover. Nice, quick-drying formula. This also has the wide, curved brush I love. I love the super-shifty magnetic effect on this one. It reminds me of the Northern lights. It is inspired by the legend that as long as you pick up spilled food after 5 seconds, it is safe to eat.
Price: $13 / no cap
Anchor & Heart Lacquer Iron Anchor Bubble Trouble is a strengthening base coat designed to combat peeling and breaking nails. It has worked well for me, extending my manis for a couple days. It dries quickly and has a thin consistency. I also love the curved, flat brush! It has a bubble gum scent and is inspired by the legend that if you swallow gum it stays in your stomach for seven years.
Price: $7.50 / no cap
Blush Lacquers The Blue Lady is an aero blue jelly with holo shimmer and microflakes, cobalt blue microglitters, and blue-to-pink duochrome shimmer. I wore it in four thin coats but two or three will cover. It dries fast and perfectly smooth, even with the glitter. This uses the flat, curved brush that allows quick polishing next to the cuticle line. It is inspired by a ghost who turns on a blue light in one of the rooms at the Story Inn in Nashville, Indiana.
Price: $11 / no cap
Different Dimension Andy's Coming is a taupe gray jelly with red-to-green multichrome shimmer and flakes. I wore it in three thin coats, but two will cover. The flakes and shifting shimmer really stand out here! The polish is inspired by the urban legend that shouting Andy's coming at the Toy Story characters at Disney parks causes them to fall down.
Price: $11 / no cap
Different Dimension The Toys Are Alive Cuticle Oil Pen contains 2ml of sugar-cookie scented oil, inspired by the legend that toys come alive when you are asleep or not looking. It is really nicely moisturizing and convenient to keep in your purse.

Grace-full Nail Polish Show Me the Money is a green black jelly with blue-to-purple multichrome aurora shimmer and flakes. I wore it in four thin coats, but two or three will cover. Nice, quick dry time and lots of strong shift! It is inspired by the legend that Bill Gates tracks e-mails for money.
Price: $12.50 / 120 cap
Great Lakes Lacquer Nessy is inspired by the Loch Ness Monster. It is a is a sea green with silver-green-to-blue duochrome shimmer. I wore it in three thin coats and it dried quickly with a smooth formula.
Price: $12 / no cap
Literary Lacquers This Dish Is Cheap Yet Tasty is a magenta linear holo. It covers in one or two thin coats, is quick drying, and works for stamping. The formula is phenomenal and I love a brilliant, linear holo like this.
"My inspiration is from my favorite urban legend that has also become a little joke between me and my best friend. I've heard this urban legend a few ways. In the first, older variant, a woman loved the Chinese characters on her menu so much that she knitted them into a sweater. In the newer version, it's a tattoo, but the end result is the same. The unsuspecting woman finds out much later that her sweater/tattoo says "This Dish is Cheap Yet Tasty." The color is inspired by my best friend and her obsession with anything Magenta"
Price: $13 / no cap
Lollipop Posse Lacquer Victorian Oddities is a turquoise with gold flakes and pink-to-gold duochrome shimmer. I wore it in three thin coats, but two will cover. Nice, fast-drying formula and lots of sparkle. It is inspired by the Victorian Oddities house in Cape May, New Jersey.
Price: $13 / no cap
Moonflower Polish The Stone Dog is a charcoal brown shimmer polish with blue-to-purple duochrome shimmer. It covers in one or two thin coats as a regular polish, dries quickly, and also stamps beautifully. Scroll down for it stamped using Über Chic 22-03 plate.
"My parents told me this story when I was very young. There is a dog shaped rock facing the ocean in the area known as Condado Beach. Everytime we drove past it they would remind us of the story. It goes like this: One day a soldier went off to war and his dog sat on a rock facing the sea, waiting for his return. The soldier died in the war and the dog stayed there waiting patiently, until he eventually turned to stone."
Price: $10 / 75 cap
Moonflower Polish The Stone Dog stamped over Blush Lacquers The Blue Lady using Über Chic 22-03 plate.
Nail Hoot Indie Lacquers Jack of the Lantern is a pumpkin orange jelly with orange holo glitters and orange-to-green multichrome microflakes. I wore it in four thin coats for maximum depth, but two or three will cover. It dries quickly with a great formula. Top coat is required to smooth it due to the glitters. It is inspired by the legend of Stingy Jack.
Price: $9.50 / no cap
Pretty Beautiful Unlimited George is an emerald (cold) to leaf green(warm) thermal with gold and copper holo microglitters, orange-to-green multichrome aurora shimmer, and multichrome and iridescent multichrome flakes. I wore it in three thin coats and smoothed it with one layer of top coat. Nice fast-drying formula. It was inspired by the Abominable Snowman from Looney Tunes.
Price: $11.50 / 150 cap
Pretty Beautiful Unlimited Welcome to the Himalayas! Wax Melt is inspired by the Abominable Snowman from Monsters Ink. It has notes of sweet citrus, caramelized sugar and freshly baked cake combined with the effervescent notes of bergamot, frosted ivy and wild berries and topped off with creamy vanilla musk, oak moss, and wood accord. 3oz. Super-refreshing and warm smelling!
Price: $5 / 35 cap
Pretty Jelly Nail Polish The Mary Way Home is a teal-gray with bronze and silver holo glitters, red/gold multichrome flakes and copper shimmer. I wore it in three thin coats, but two will cover. It needs top coat to smooth due to the larger hex glitters, which have a slight curl. Nice distribution of glitter and no fishing at all for the elements. The complexity of this polish is so fun!
"Resurrection Mary, one of Chicago's more famous ghosts, is known to hitch a ride back home, only to vanish from the car outside Resurrection Cemetery, where she is said to be buried. The legend goes that Mary had been walking home from Oh Henry Ballroom when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver. The color was inspired by the wrought iron fence surrounding the cemetary that Mary reportedly burned her handprints into."
Price: $12 / cap 120
Rogue Lacquer Heads Will Roll is a cobalt-to-indigo duochrome shimmer with copper-to-red multichrome flakes. I wore it in three thin coats and a shiny top coat. Nice, quick dry time. It is inspired by Sleepy Hollow and the headless horseman. This polish has a serious glow!
$12.50 / 400 cap
Supermoon Lacquer Black Shuck is a teal-blue-black with blue/purple/orange chameleon pigment, blue-to-purple, green-to-pink, red-to-gold, and red-to-green color shifting shimmer, silver/white shimmer, red and silver/white sparks, red pearl microflakies, iridescent red/green microglitter, and holographic black and silver microglitter. I wore it in two thin coats but one will cover. This also works as a stamping polish! Quick dry time and nice formula.
"Inspired by the omens of death known as black dogs - nocturnal apparitions often associated with the devil and sometimes with electrical storms - specifically the one known as Black Shuck (or Old Shuck) who plays a part in the folklore of Norfolk, Suffolk, the Cambridgeshire fens, and Essex."
Price: $12.50 / no cap
The Soapy Chef Elvis Lives Charcoal Snow Hand and Nail Scrub is inspired by the idea that Elvis faked his own death and is just hiding out! It is super-gentle and moisturizing, with baking soda as a mild, fine exfoliating element. It also comes with a plastic scoop to keep the jar contents clean when removing product.
"This hand and nail charcoal scrub is a gentle exfoliating scrub for hands and nails. It emulsifies and lathers when you add water to it. It will condition and brighten nails and cuticles and leave your skin feeling refreshed and silky smooth. The charcoal helps to give skin and nails that extra clean feeling by cleaning out pores and all other dirt from under those nails.
This scrub is a combination of fruity and earthy, combining a beautiful ripe pear scent with an herbal rosemary afternote.
Instructions: Massage about a teaspoon onto hands and nails. Add a little warm water to create a lather/foam. Scrub into hands and nails and rinse with warm water. Pat dry. Massage any remaining oils and butters into your hands."
Ingredients: baking soda, soy wax, coconut oil, avocado oil, citric acid, fragrance oil, essential oil, activated charcoal
Price: $8.50 / no cap
