I'm a little late getting started, but I am no less excited to share with you the favorite polishes featured on the blog in 2017! These are in alphabetical order and there will be three posts in total, because there was so much fantastic polish I tried in the year. This doesn't include *all* of my favorites, because I didn't have time to photograph everything I wore, but there is still plenty to look back on with fondness. Click on the name of each polish to see the original review. Let's get started...
*polishes sent by the maker or PR for photography and review*
All Mixed Up Always on My Mind for the Monthly Polish Awareness Box. I am always here for a nice, bright green, and this had a lovely sparkle to it.Bluebird Lacquer Wink Wink was part of the Matte Effects Topper Collection. I thought this collection was really creative and unique, with so many shifting elements and great formulas. I liked Wink Wink as well on its own or as a topper.
Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer The Night Tears Us Loose was from the We Saw the Stars Collection. Not only was this a rich color with a lot of shifting elements, it was super opaque and fast drying, which is great when you are in a rush.
This isn't a polish, per se, but 2017 was the year of the effects powders, and Born Pretty Store had some spectacular ones. Chameleon Holo Flake Powder #1 combines multichrome flake with linear holo and was super-flashy over gel.
Cameo Colours Lacquers I Feel Petty, Oh So Petty was from the Anonamaker Collaboration Project Fourth Edition. This was such a lovely holo/multichrome combination.
Celestial Cosmetics Cheap Distraction is a unicorn - a genuine pastel multichrome! The iridescent polishes have tons of holo and a strong shift and I loved all of them, but this one was a highlight.
Chirality Polish 1984 was from the Polish Pickup Monsters & Mythical Creatures October 2017. It had so much fire and channeled the inspiration perfectly.
Colors by Llarowe has been one of my favorite brands for years, and this polish reminds me why! Go Home, Anon You're Drunk was from the Anonamaker Collaboration Project Third Edition and is the most glowing, super-holo brown. Nevertheless, it manages to be a rich, deep color without being grayed out.
Contrary Polish is a another brand I have been a huge fan of back since the early days of indies! If I Were a Peacock is also from the Anonamaker Collaboration Project Fourth Edition. Contrary does shimmer like no one's business and this is a lovely shifter, too.
Ellagee Rage Flounce is also from the Anonamaker Collaboration Project Third Edition. This is a super-flashy pink - I can't get enough of brilliant, metallic shades like this.
Envy Lacquer Don't Be a Seawitch is a rich, glowing duochrome shimmer holo from the Mermaids At Sea Collection. It has the perfect balance of shimmer and holo and has such richness and depth to it.
Essie Topless and Barefoot is an oldie but a goodie! It is one of the great classic Essie beiges that is a perfect nude for my skin tone. It is also really opaque and non-streaky.
Ever After Polish Dear Sweet Littlefoot is a variation of a limited polish that was brought back by popular demand in the Land Before Time Collection. Man, does this one have glow and flash! Ever After Polish was the brand that first popularized multichrome flake creme-jellies and they remain some of the most popular polishes in the brand's line-up. There is a good reason why!
Fair Maiden Polish Samantha is from the Sex in the City Collection released at Polish Con NYC. It is vampy, shifty, holo shimmer perfection! I love these kind of polishes so much and this is perfectly executed.
Gelish Ole My Way from the Matadora Collection is a soak-off gel polish shimmer. I love how the shimmer seems to float in the jelly-like quality of the translucent gel.
I will be back soon with more! I was so excited by many of the things I tried this year and it is fun to look back on the year. Did you get any of these?
