It's that time of month again! Polish Pickup is back with the December 2017 theme Holidays Around the World. This is a pop-up shop that opens for pre-orders of indie polish and products on a theme every month. This time it is open December 1 at 11AM EST to December 4 at 11:59PM EST. Today I have Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's polish, which pays tribute to the Obon Festival in Japan! The Obon Festival is a Buddist festival for honoring your ancestors, which is a common time to have reunions. Lanterns and the Bon Odori dance are features of the celebration. When I lived in Japan I took part in one of these festivals and learned the Bon Odori!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Lighting the Way is a iron blue with a mix of multichrome iridescent microflakes, predominantly with a pink-to-green shift. There is also a splash of scattered holo shimmer. It is a gorgeous polish that perfectly evokes paper lanterns against water and a night sky. I wore it in three thin coats, but two will do. Nice formula and quick dry time - it needs top coat to be shiny.
This polish will be available for pre-order from the Polish Pickup from December 1 at 11AM EST to December 4 at 11:59PM EST. I am a sucker for both deep blues and these kind of iridescent flakes, so this will be one of my favorite polishes this month, particularly since the Obon Festival is something I remember from my childhood in Japan.
The Polish Pickup is a monthly event in which multiple indie makers create polishes on a single theme. Find them at:
