Matte liquid lipsticks are all the rage lately and I have a new one to show you! This is Highlight Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Ruby Royalty. This product has a shimmer/metallic finish and is designed for long wear. Let's have a closer look!

The Highlight Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick comes in an outer cardboard box with a window to see the color. While it is a liquid product, the reservoir is lipstick-shaped and allows you to easily see the color inside. Let's see what the brand had to say:
Highly pigmented moisturizing liquid lipstick. Soft velvet feel that lasts the whole day on your lips. You can achieve the opaque pigment you want with only one coat and the best part is that it will not smear while you eat, drink or as temperature rises. Apply once and you are good to go!
The NATURAL infusion of TURMERIC, GREEN TEA, WHITE TEA, SEA KELP, and a BENEFIT PEPTIDE will give your lips a soft, moist, and smooth finish.
A high performance liquid lipstick that lies above all others. Made in USA, cruelty free, gluten free & paraben free!
The applicator is a doe-foot that is easy to control and holds a good amount of the product for application. The lid secures nicely and the handle is matte for a nice grip and no visible fingerprints.
What are the ingredients?
Isododecane Cyclopentasiloxane Trimethylsiloxysilicate Beeswax (Cera Alba) Dimethicone Kaolin Disteardimonium Hectorite VP/Hexadecene Copolymer Octyldodecanol Polybutene Silica Silylate C18-36 Acid Triglyceride Propylene Carbonate Phenoxyethanol Stearalkonium Hectorite Ethylhexylglycerin Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Oil Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3 Tocopheryl Acetate Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride Laminaria Ochroleuca (Kelp) Extract Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract Camellia Oleifera (White Tea) Leaf Extract MAY CONTAIN: +/- Mica (CI 77019) Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) Iron Oxides (CI 77499, CI 77491, CI 77492) D&C Red 27 Aluminum Lake (CI 45410:2) FD&C Yellow No 5 Aluminum Lake (CI 19140:1) Carmine (CI 75470) FD&C Blue No 1 Aluminum Lake (CI 42090) D&C Red No 6 (CI 15850) FD&C Red 7 Calcium Lake (CI 15850:1)
The formula is fragrance free and takes about a minute to dry down from the initial creamy texture, so you have plenty of time to ensure you have it where you want it. It is neither moisturizing nor drying and wears well for at least half a day before fading evenly. While it does not feel "rubbery" like some liquid lipsticks, the pigment does cling to the lips like any matte product, so you want to be sure to exfoliate before application. The metallic shade I tried will show lip wrinkles and texture more than a non-shimmer shade. The good news is that wear time does not seem to be affected by the application of a balm or gloss over the top, so layering is always an option if you wanted to change the texture for a different look.
The retail price is $25 and a little goes a long way - I would say you could easily get a half a year out of a tube with regular wear. The shade I used, Ruby Royalty, was flattering on my NC15, yellow-toned pale skin, and it has a muted, pink-brown tinge, less in-your-face than a bright red. The brand is running a sale right now through the end of October, so pick yours up for 20% off with code DUPETHAT. How do you like matte liquid lipsticks? Have you tried one before?
