It's that time of year again! Octopus Party Nail Lacquer's Fall 2016 Collection Part One is up for its initial pre-order until August 27 at noon EDT. This is a compact offering of three vampy polishes and a gold shimmer holo that works on its own or as a topper. Let's have a look!

Monster is a dark plum purple linear holo jelly with translucent holo microglitter. Even though it has that squishy jelly look, it is opaque in two or three thin coats. Also, the glitters dry smooth even without top coat. Yay! Great formula that dries quickly and wears well.
Red Blood Sells is a very dark blood red with scattered holo and gold microflakes. This is also jelly-like, but opaque in only two thin coats.
Swamped is a green-black with scattered holo, worn here in two thin coats. I love how this is deep and rich but still has a lot of depth and squish to it. Also, it's super-shiny!
The Midas Touch is a limited edition topper with scattered holo and gold shimmer. It works beautifully over any other polish in the collection or on its own. I liked that it was not at all streaky or frosty, even over these dark shades. I wore it in a single coat over Red Blood Sells and it made the polish glow.
And bonus! It works on its own in three or four thin coats for a totally different effect! I love how soft and pearly it is.
These are available in the pre-order until noon EDT on August 27, but will also be restocked soon. I really enjoy Dave's well-edited collections - they are like calm and quiet in polish form. Polish minimalism with holo and flakes and glitter? Somehow it works! And three cheers for three gorgeous dark polishes - I'm a big fan of these shades. See any you want?
