Awesome Sauce Indie Box Mermani Edition

I am reviewing the mini set, which is offered for $30. I think this is a great deal particularly when you factor in all the extras included. Below you see the types of bottles included, though note that the Lavish Lacquer polish will be in a bottle like the Vapid Lacquer on the right, rather than the type of bottle shown.

Here are all the extra goodies! Anonymous Lacquer has included her Jojoba Cuticle Oil, which has a light, fruity scent and is very moisturizing, and also a set of plastic nail art jewels. Ever After Polish provides a Mermaid Lagoon Cuticle Crelly, with a sweet floral fragrance with a touch of sun lotion vibe. This is a rich creme for the hands and cuticles. Lavish Polish supplied some lovely gold mermaid and ocean-themed jewels. The Lou It Yourself vinyls feature mermaid and fish scale images. I will show you some nail art creations at the end of the post.

Anonymous Lacquer Mermaid Magic is a dark amethyst linear holo with blue-to-pink duochrome microflakes. This is super opaque, shown here in two thin coats. It has a fantastic formula and dries quickly. It did have a little bit of the sulphurous blue polish smell which dissipated when it dried.

Ever After Polish Scaling the Open Sea is a linear holo with silver microflakes and green-to-orange multichrome flakes. I am wearing it in four thin coats for maximum opacity in photography, but it shows mostly opaque in two or three thin coats. It can also be used as a topper.

Lavish Polish Golden Mermaid is a metallic gold foil with green-to-orange multichrome flakes and scattered holographic shimmer and sparkle. It is opaque in two-to-three thin coats. I love how this one looks like a piece of treasure, with the multichrome jewels peeking out of the burnished gold surface!

Literary Lacquers Each to Each is a baby blue linear holographic jelly polish with translucent iridescent glitter. It is quite sheer and shown here in four thin coats. This could be layered over a similar-toned base if you wanted fewer coats. It also would work as a topper. The glitters are fairly smooth with only a single layer of top coat.

Vapid Lacquer No Clam Shells Needed is a thermal jelly with a variety of blue and purple glitters and scattered holo in a caribbean green (cool) and baby blue (warm) base. I have very warm hands, so the blue is predominant on me, but you can see some of the green on my tips, particularly in the last shot. This polish does have some texture and dries matte - I wore it with a plumping top coat. This one is sheer so if you don't like visible nail line you will have to put it over a base color.

Now for some nail art craziness!

Here are the plastic nail jewels with Anonymous Lacquer Mermaid Magic. I just put this on temporarily using top coat, but if you wanted to wear it you would need nail glue. I love how it looks like psychedelic barnacles! What has that mermaid been smoking?!

Here is Lavish Polish Golden Mermaid with her accompanying jewels. I adore how the large mermaid seems to be a piece of ancient art! The thinner metal mermaids can be bent to conform to your nail shape. All are reusable, but you may have to be careful with the thin mermaids to remove them without the tails snapping off. You get two each of the chunkier jewels and six of the thin mermaids to play with.

Finally I have the Lou It Yourself mermaid vinyls with Literary Lacquers Each to Each, as the base, Anonymous Lacquer Mermaid Magic as the accent nail, and Ever After Polish Scaling the Open Sea as the fish scales. Look how marvelously opaque and crisp the mermaid is! The scales are more for shimmery effect.

I hope you liked this edition of the box! The Awesome Sauce Indie Box is available as a pre-order on Friday, January 29, at 6PM PST at $30 for the mini set and $50 for the full size. This box is a tremendous deal and I love that they also offer minis for those who want to try the colors and would never use up a full size or are not able to swing the full set. Talk about nail polish compassion, haha! Which items did you like best?
