Awesome Sauce Indie Box Lisa Frank Swatches and Review

This month, the Awesome Sauce Indie Box pays tribute to the bright, 80s stylings of Lisa Frank that many of us grew up with! The set contains four polishes, a rainbow nail file, cuticle balm, neon star glitter and water slide decals. Let's have a look!

Anonymous Lacquer Dream Like a Unicorn is a bright navy blue linear holo with duochrome blue-to-pink shimmer. This is a stunner, opaque in one or two thin coats and a quick drying formula.

Different Dimension StarGazer has a melange of silver holo microglitter and larger neon glitters in a variety of shapes, including stars, with a clear base. It can be worn opaque in three-to-four coats or used as a topper in one. It dries with some texture due to the glitter.

Ever After Polish Let's Be Frank is a watermelon pink with pink microflakes and scattered holo, worn here in three thin coats. My bottle had a bit of clumps due to a mixup in the sample production, but the version shipped for the pre-order will be corrected for a perfect finish. Other than that, the polish dried quickly and had a good formula.

Lavish Polish Chasing Rainbows is a neon purple scattered holo with blue and pink shimmer. It has a lovely, delicate look and covers nicely in two or three thin coats. It needs top coat for it to shine like the pics here.

Here are the extras! Green Goddess Creations included some Lisa Frank-inspired water slide decals, Anonymous Lacquer sent a cuticle balm, and Different Dimension supplied an extra baggie of their neon star glitters for use in nail art. There is also a nice paper rainbow file.

Here is Different Dimension StarGazer with the extra glitter - I just dipped my accent nail in the bag and coated with a clear top coat.

I used the Green Goddess Creations water slide decals with Lavish Polish Chasing Rainbows. Believe it or not, this was my first time trying decals! I recommend cutting them as close to the pattern as possible and only dipping briefly, as a prolonged soak in water can make the ink slide off them. I just put the decal on my nail and pulled off the paper, or alternately removed them from the backing with a tweezer. Where I had some areas stick up on the places I did not trim them close enough at first, I was able to pat them flush with a bit of acetone on a clean up brush then top coat. The decals are translucent, so you either want to use them over a light polish or paint them with acrylic before application.

That wraps up the Awesome Sauce Indie Box Lisa Frank! It is available for order right now. The full size set is sold for $40 or the mini set for $25, which is a price drop from previous editions. Extra decal sheets can be purchased for $4.50 each. Note that the Ever After Polish will be full size in both boxes due to an overpour! Bonus - either option is a great deal. See anything you like? Did you have Lisa Frank school gear as a kid?
