Wildflower Lacquer Back to the 90s Collection and The Polished Hippy Swatches and Review
Wildflower Lacquer's March pre-order is open and I have something special to share! This month's release includes the Back to the '90s Collection and a polish to celebrate the 6th Indieversary of Wildflower, a polish I got to co-create! The Polished Hippy is the kind of classic holo that attracted me to the brand to begin with - and I was Taylor's first customer! The pre-order is open through March 10. Let's have a look!

First up is the Back to the '90s Collection. These are right on trend for the Y2K vibe going on now and feature inspirations that millennials are sure to remember from their childhoods. I'm a bit older some these were only things I was tangentially aware of as a young adult, but the shimmery iridescent colorways are something that I certainly do remember! The formula was similar on all these, quick-drying and easy to apply.
Wildflower Lacquer Ceiling Full of Stars is a pale green jelly with gold-green-blue multichrome iridescent shimmer and green glow-in-the-dark pigment. Inspired by stick-on glow-in-the-dark ceiling stars. I wore it in four thin coats, but three will cover. Funnily enough, I have glow-in-the-dark stars on my bedroom ceiling now! These are a legacy of it being a child's bedroom in the past, probably at some point in the 1980s, and in 21 years of living in the house I've never gotten around to painting the room and probably never will. So I will have stars on my ceiling until I am an old lady!

Wildflower Lacquer Dolphin Obsession is a mauve-gray jelly with aqua-violet-magenta multichrome iridescent shimmer. Inspired by dolphin-themed everything. I wore it in four thin coats, but two or three will cover.

Wildflower Lacquer Juice Bar is a magenta-pink jelly with copper-gold-green multichrome iridescent shimmer and holo microflakes. Inspired by the body spray. I wore this in three thin coats, but two will cover.
Price: $13.00 / $100 for full collection of 8
Wildflower Lacquer Lil' Miss Singing Mermaid is a sky blue jelly with pink-gold duochrome iridescent shimmer and multichrome iridescent microglitter. Inspired by the singing mermaid doll. I wore it in four thin coats, but two or three will cover. It needs top coat for smoothness and shine. It doesn't require much extra effort to remove.

Wildflower Lacquer Planetary Berry is a cool purple linear holo with aqua-violet-magenta multichrome iridescent shimmer. Inspired by Taylor's favorite lip smacker from the 90s. I wore this in four thin coats, but two will cover. I just loved painting on more and more holo!

Wildflower Lacquer Polly In My Pocket is a pale pink-violet jelly with magenta-gold-green multichrome iridescent shimmer. Inspired by Polly Pocket. I wore it in four thin coats and it retained some visible nail line.

Wildflower Retro Roller Skates is a white jelly with pink-orange-yellow-green-blue multichrome iridescent shimmer with a turquoise undertone. Inspired by Friday nights at the skating rink. I wore it in four thin coats, but three might cover. This had a true mother-of-pearl foiled finish!

Wildflower Lacquer Sky Dancer is a green-teal jelly with pink-gold-green multichrome iridescent shimmer. Inspired by the Sky Dancer toy. I wore it in four thin coats and it kept some visible nail line.
Price: $13.00 / $100 for full collection of 8
Wildflower Lacquer The Polished Hippy is a stop red linear holo. I wore it in four thin coats, but it was only because I loved applying the holo. Two coats will cover. This one can stain susceptible nails, but I didn't get much staining from wearing this one for several days in a row.
I originally found Taylor's polishes on Storenvy back in February 2017 - I would just randomly look for holo polishes and Wildflower popped up. Taylor offered mini bottles, and that let me grab a bunch at once, like jelly beans, to try! She had a lot of vibrant holos, which I love, and I was hooked. Taylor told me several years later that I was her only customer for a while, and my purchases helped provide her with the money to scale up the brand into the successful family business it is today! Also, it turns out Taylor is the sister-in-law of another indie maker, Tami, whose now-retired brand Devil Wears Polish, I had started purchasing from in 2013 and found the same way. I loved just happening upon new brands back in the day when the indie polish world was smaller. I was so honored when Taylor approached me to make a polish for her 6th Indieversary, and I gave her the option of vibrant red or green linear holos, or magnetic red or green polishes with flakes. She chose the red linear holo option, which is great, because this is exactly the kind of polish that made me purchase in the first place! If you pick this up, I hope you love it as much as I do.
Price: $13
Now for live swatches!
The March pre-order is open through noon March 10. I am delighted to have been a part of Wildflower history and I'm glad Taylor's polishes have gotten the attention they deserve in a crowded indie market. I will always be a die-hard linear holo fan, since that is the finish that drew me back into polish collecting in the 2000s.
