The Color Box: Green Swatches and Review

I was excited to be able to participate in the latest Color Box, a series that features five blogger-maker collaboration polishes on the theme of a single color family. This month is devoted to green, one of my favorite shades. I was lucky to be paired up with Julie of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer. Let's have a look at what everyone came up with!

The Color Box: Green

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Green's Alexandrite with Me was inspired by the gemstone Alexandrite - it shifts from green to purple depending on the light. I knew it would be a fun challenge and Julie rose to the occasion, even buying some new ingredients that I like using to make the polish! The base shade is an emerald green with scattered holo, green-to-purple multichrome shimmer, and green iridescent flakes. I wore it in three very thin coats, but two would do. It dries with a bit of texture due to the flakes but can be smoothed out easily with top coat.

Fair Maiden Polish Hidden Lair was created with Jen of Xoxo Jen. It is an olive green with linear holo and green-to-purple multichrome shimmer. It has a perfect formula, worn here in three thin coats, but two would do. This is a stunner!

Great Lakes Lacquer Manna's Magical Masterpiece was created with Manna of Manna's Manis. It is a sea green jelly with scattered holo, magenta/green duochrome microflakes, and purple shimmer. Great formula with quick dry time. It is a jelly, so I wore it with four thin coats. Three might do for most.

Le Polish Succulent Stargazer was created with Ida of Ida Nails It. It was inspired by purple-tinged succulents and has a delicate jadeite-green base with silver and pink shimmer, pink microflakes, and silver flakes. I wore it in three thin coats. It is a little on the thicker side and does not completely self-level, so I recommend thin coats.

NeVermind Polish Princess Ozma was a collaboration with Karina of Just the Polished Tip. It is a pine green with scattered holo and holo flakes. It is a perfect polish, worn here in three thin coats, but two would do. NeVermind is a newer brand that debuted at Polish Con 2016. I bought the Holophilia Collection there and was happy with the polishes!

The Color Box Green goes up for preorder from November 25 through December 2. The makers have the option of releasing the colors individually in their shops, but if you like them, the box is the best deal. I've bought every release so far and have loved to see what the brands and bloggers have created together. Also, there is a chance to win the box by entering the Rafflecopter here.
