While the Octopus Party Nail Lacquer brand is mostly in hiatus, Dave occasionally creates small batches that are offered in the Facebook group The Octosquad. There is a release of six summer neon polishes tomorrow dubbed the Summer Playlist Collection, inspired by Dave's current listening pleasures. First of all, notes on formula, since these were all similar but with one exception that will be noted below. They are shown with three thin coats and have a fast dry time. These are great neon holos - plenty of sparkle, even though neon is notoriously for dulling the effect. They are silky smooth and don't have any issues with pigment clumping, another neon pitfall.

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Chick Habit is a purple holo neon jelly.
Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Clap Hands is a turquoise neon holo jelly.
Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Kodachrome is a green neon holo jelly.
Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Lights Out is a brilliant cobalt blue holo jelly. This is the odd man out, formula wise. This type of pigment affects the suspension properties of the base, so there is a lot of sinking of the holo. Also, it has a thinner consistency than the other colors. The good news is that as long as you give it a good shake before applying, it doesn't seem to affect the look on the nail. As you can see, it is still plenty holo.
