I will have a couple of posts to share with you for something I am excited about - Great Lakes Lacquer's Black Friday Releases! In addition to her Holiday Collection there will be multiple special and small batch polishes. Those always get my heart rate up! I have a few to share today and more tomorrow. Great Lakes Lacquer Empty Box is a small batch release. This is a berry with a subtle blue-to-magenta duochrome shimmer shift and scattered holo. It is quite opaque, and covers in one or two thin coats. Nice, quick-drying formula. Here is what Mariah had to say:
Mulled wine red with purple and orange shimmer and a soft linear holographic finish. I don't need to explain the name do I? 2 coats for an opaque look but you may be able to get away with one.
Made specifically with Kenji of manisbykenji on IG, this first started as a bit of joke. Made well known by her, her love of crellies of any kind is seriously lacking. In fact, she once said they all belong at the bottom of the ocean. Since though, she's swatched some of mine and was surprised to find she likes them. Hence the color; sea green with two kinds of multichrome flake and shimmer that shifts from blue to purple and bronze. 2-3 coats for an opaque look.
Great Lakes Lacquer Mint Or Potato is a mint green jelly-creme with iridescent pink-to-green multichrome shimmer and microflakes. This is also a small batch polish. I wore it in three thin coats. It is a bit streaky on the first coat but evens out on the second. The shimmer is more subtle on the nail than in the bottle. It has a sort of succulent look to it which I like. I meant Mint or Pistachio but autocorrect had other ideas. Light green with red to purple and gold shimmer. Streaky on first coat. Evens out with 1-2 more.
