These multi-chrome powders can be used on both your gel and regular polish manis. For use with gel, you need to have a no-wipe top coat to rub the powder into for the chrome effect. I used Girly Bits Cosmetics Seal the Deal, both before and after the powder. For use with regular nail polish, you need to top coat the powder first with a water-based coat (UNT Ready for Takeoff and Nfu-Oh Aqua Base both work) then follow with a normal top coat. The chrome effect will be less dramatic than it is over gel, but still stronger than using a multichrome nail polish alone. The SFX Multi-Chrome Powders will have the strongest effect over black, as shown here, but can also be used over other colors. Since the powders have a darker pigment of their own, I recommend using dark shades. For detailed tips and tricks about using nail powders over both gel and regular nail polish, see my post here. The powders come in 1g screw top containers and a little goes a LONG way. I barely had to use any to get a nice, strong chrome effect.
SFX Multi-Chrome Powder Alchemy is a cool purple that shifts magenta then green at extreme angles.
SFX Multi-Chrome Powder Conjure shifts from magenta to a strong green/gold. I wore this for a weekend conference and got lots of complements!
SFX Multi-Chrome Powder Sorcery shifts from red to gold. This is the warmest shade of the four powders.
Finally, SFX Multi-Chrome Powder Wizardry shifts from teal through magenta to gold. This has probably the strongest multichrome effect of the collection.
