Oz Naturals Super Youth Eye Gel features plant stem cells, their Matrixyl 3000 peptide complex, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin E. It is intended to address wrinkles, puffiness, and dark circles.
It can be used as either an eye-only or a full face product, morning and night, and works under makeup. Here's what the brand had to say:
Let's have a look at the ingredients:
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-12, Sodium Hyaluronate, Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract, Spirulina Platensis Extract, Macrocystis Pyrifera Extract, Wheat Amino Acids, Soy Amino Acids, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Arginine HCL, Serine, Threonine, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Steareth-20, Chrysin, N-Hydroxysuccinimide, Nonadienal, Disodium EDTA, Benzyl Alcohol, Ethyhexyglycerin, Tocopherol, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid.
I was thrilled to see glycerin as one of the top ingredients, as it is very hydrating and gentle, as is caprylic/capric triglyceride. The active peptide ingredients are near the top of the list, indicating they are a significant part of the formula.
Oz Naturals Super Youth Eye Gel comes in a pump bottle containing .5 fl. oz. This is small enough for travel use and the packaging is quite sturdy.
The gel itself is colorless, and although it does not list fragrance among the ingredients, it has a soft, almost cucumbery scent - very pleasant!
So how did it do? This product has a strong plumping and hydrating effect when first applied - it makes your skin feel a bit like you just stepped out of the shower, except the effect lasts longer. I could definitely see smoothing immediately. The hydration does not last as long as Oz Naturals Ultra Ageless Eye Creme, which I reviewed here. When used on my full dry face in the dead of winter, I did wake up with some flaking, but saw a reduction in my dark circles over the 10 days I tested it. I would say this will be absolutely perfect for me to use in the summer, when my skin is oilier and does not tolerate creams as well. So overall, I would chose the Ultra Ageless Eye Creme for my dry skin in the winter, and the Super Youth Eye Gel in the summer. The product is priced at $19.95 via Amazon, and can be ordered in conjunction with their free shipping options, which is awesome for me! I would say it is a good value (a little goes a long way) and a nice alternative to department store eye gels, which are significantly more expensive for the same amount. The fact it won Allure's award for the eye gel category is awesome and attests to its effectiveness and value.
